Our Honeymoon ;)

I am slowly trying to update our lives since we have been married ... hence my writing about our honeymoon.

We stayed in Laguna Beach at this cute place called The Art Hotel across the street from Crescent Bay for 5 days and 4 nights. The hotel was perfect for us and we got the best room on the second floor with a balcony and view of the ocean! Each room features a local artist and many of their pieces through out the room. We bought 2 prints from the artist in our room to remember the good memories we had in Laguna Beach.

Randy and I had a great time together! Besides the obviously exciting things newly-wed couples get to experience, we also did a few other things while in LB. We soaked up the sun at a few different beaches, ate great food, went hot tubbing, took beautiful strolls along the beach, and talked a lot (what we tend to do best).

The first place we ate at together, as a married couple was at The Cottage, which had home-style Cali cuisine (at least that's what our guidebook said). We walked there from our hotel and were attracted to the globe lights and patio furniture outside (nice and laid back--our style). It felt great to just be married. No more wedding plans! We both had worked so hard to make it to this point and felt so grateful to be where we were. We just focused on one another and soaked it up for all it is worth (which is a lot). We ate light seafood dishes and it felt nice! There we were, sitting side by side on patio furniture going to town on our cuisine and feeling a lot of love as we looked at one another. Yes, this IS my life!

Suprisingly, another just-married couple and their wedding party were celebrating at the restaurant. The bride was so nice, she gave Randy and I two of her wedding cupcakes. Let it be no surprise or shock that I ate that sucker before my food arrived, which did come in a very timely manner.

Some of the other things we did was go back to the Newport Beach Temple. It felt good to be where we had been sealed for all time and eternity. We also decided to try and be thrifty and bought groceries for a lot of our meals and decided to splurge on just a few special nights. We picked our favorite cereals, and bought a few items to make salads and sandwiches. We actually preferred this way of eating because when we eat heavy meals over and over again we tend to not feel so great. It also made dining out that much more special. The other two places we ate at were called GG's Cafe-Bistro and Salt Creek Grille. GG's was seriously one of the best places I have ever eaten! It was so romantic too, I have never been to Europe, but if I had to guess what it might be like to dine in Paris this would be it!

At one point we also got homemade ice cream (Randy's had chips covered in chocolate which were surprisingly good) and sat on the beach taunting seagulls as they tried to go after our coveted treats. We also saw a dolphin and on Halloween we drove back to Blythe. I continually feel so much gratitude to my Heavenly Father for my life and all of the blessings and goodness that have come my way through Randy. He strengthens me and does really help me be the best version of myself. I have never met someone that had so much confidence in me. He truly believes I can do anything (besides beat him at leg wrestling). Love being Mrs. Saunders!

So Randy and I are going to give this blog thing a try. With getting married and moving to Hawaii, we thought this could be another good way to keep in touch with family and share what has been going on! Randy and I have been married for a little over two months now and are loving life.
