SEPTEMBER 2015

 Elise and Jonathan get hitched!

We had a lovely reception on the 11th in the Lucero's backyard and it was lovely! We traveled the next day (September 12th) to the Phoenix temple and were able to see them be sealed for all time and eternity. Afterwards we ate some amazing Italian food and sent the bride and groom on their way for the honeymoon ;)

Playing Dress up
Elise and I had a little fun playing dress up. She let me try on her gorgeous dress and I still happen to have mine stored at home in Blythe (from about 3 years ago) so she was able to try mine on too.

Playing Tourist: Visiting the Intaglios

Randy may have been really excited to visit the Intaglios which are very close to Blythe. Randy was upset when he realized I had never told him about the Intaglios before in all the years we have been married and visited Blythe. I should have realized his history-loving self would have gone crazy over this. Well better late than never right?! My dad also took us to the main dam in Blythe and we saw a scorpion!

Luckily my dad is a history buff too so there were many important things to discuss.
Bittersweet Goodbyes
Saying goodbye at the Phoenix airport as Randy and I make our way to Idaho.

Visiting family in Idaho and Utah

We were able to go visit Randy's family in Idaho for a few days before heading back to Hawaii. We had a blast going to the ranch, shooting guns (I may have gotten a slight bruise from the kick of the gun), having country-style breakfasts, watching Temple Grandin, laughing till we cry (more like Pam crying), visiting the cattle auction, and seeing Randy's nieces and nephews do their thing (science projects and cross country events). We even had the chance to stay with Davey one night in Salt Lake and go get sushi with the family. Kip and Brittany were able to join us and drove up from Provo.

AUGUST 2015

Quick Updates and Memories

Work
I started a new work schedule this month! I now get to work 4 days instead of 5 and I love it!! I just work longer hours Wed-Saturday and get Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays off!! Who doesn't love constant three day weekends! I am also happy to report I was the WOW of the month at work. Woot woot!

We jumped on the smartphone bandwagon!
We did it...we got smartphones! After searching online and all through the Pearlridge mall  we decided to go with Verizon. I have to say I am loving my phone but it is taking a little getting used to. We decided to go with the minimum data plan and I think it will be perfect for us!

Cool memory from my journal August 21, 2015

Right as I walked in the door Randy whips out fresh guac and corn ships.
Let's go--quick! he says.
Where are we going?! I ask.
To watch the sunset!
I was so giddy.
Let's go to Indicators and back up the car and sit in the back! he says with so much excitement.
I was in heaven eating guac and chips in our Saturn trunk watching the sunset. The water and sky were amazing and we stayed and talked for an hour or two discussing life, politics, work, and babies.

Going to the temple with Kahiti
This was a big deal. She has been wanting to go for some time now but was always a little hesitant because she was in a wheelchair. With the encouragement of her niece, Viviana, we convinced her to renew her recommend and go to the temple. She was a temple worker when she was younger and absolutely loved it. At work she would tell me regularly about stories and experiences she had while working in the temple.

Let's get this party started!
With Elise's wedding approaching in September I decided to head down at the end of August to go help my mom with all of the wedding festivities and probably to just have an extra excuse to hang out with my family longer too. Although we started working on wedding details we made sure to have fun by doing a float down the river.

I found this on a random beach walk with my friend. I used to have one of these when I was little! It felt so weird to see it now as an adult. All these fun memories came flooding back to me as I looked at it.
