Christmas 2019

This was an epic Christmas for our family. Everyone was able to come out except for my youngest brother, Brent, who is currently on a 2-year LDS mission.

Randy was able to do Mason's baby blessing from our home with our family present. We also spent lots of time playing games (Niner, Rook, etc.) and talking together. Christmas was also filled with beautiful beach days, hikes, visiting the lights in town, eating too much food, making tamales, and doing our secret Santa gift exchange.

I have to admit I started getting nervous when so many people asked how we would put up ten people in our 2/1 house for a couple weeks. But we had enough beds for all, shared rooms, and made use of the living room for sleeping and having one bathroom never really seemed to be an issue. My family has always been pretty comfortable sharing our spaces with one another. I recognize  now most people would need more privacy/space but my family is incredibly laid back when it comes to things like this.

Growing up we would sleep all over the place...pretty much if you fell asleep talking/reading on a bed then the owner of the room/bed would simply go find another place to sleep and no one seemed to care. I didn't even realize this was a thing my family did until I married Randy and he pointed it out to me. Although it is quirky I have an odd sense of pride about our ability to do this. It makes us flexible and fun travelers!

December 2019

I have a 3 year old?! Wendy's family came over for some birthday fun. They were so generous and gave Ezra some Saunders' toy heirlooms. Randy played with many of them when he was Ezra's age. It amazes me how well toys were made 40+ years ago! Ezra also had the chance to see snow for a whole five minutes in Mililani. We watched the Christmas parade then met our friends (Tae and Max) for the snow pile. The line was massive but we got in right at the start. In other news, Randy cut his thumb in a pretty bad way on a chainsaw working in our backyard. Fortunately, he didn't cut off his thumb. He was lucky this time!
