What a fun month for the kids! There was a never-ending supply of fun activities to choose from for Halloween. We participated in our ward trunk or treat and decorated our car TMNT style. The kids loved filling their candy buckets, helping pass out candy, and dancing in the church parking lot. A couple nights later we went official trick or treating in Kukuea circle with the Brandon's. As soon as we filled the buckets we headed home. I have to admit we were all exhausted by the end. Our family also went to Annaleia's Halloween party and we had the chance to see our friends (the Ramseys). The kids made gingerbread haunted houses, played games, and helped Uncle pick avocados.
For our Halloween costumes we picked the Ninja Turtles. I felt ambitious this year and decided to make them. It took much longer than I planned, and our house felt pretty chaotic but definitely worth it in the end. I could tell Mason and Ezra felt pretty cool with their sais and numb chucks. This was also our first year doing family-themed costumes and I loved it!
Homeschool is also in full swing for Ezra. My ideal morning routine is for us to wake up at 7. Get dressed, eat breakfast, read some books or play for a bit, make beds and then start with PMS (prayers, mediation, scriptures). Afterwards, we work on a letter for homeschool and talk about the sounds it makes, how to write it and do some practice. If Ezra's attention span is doing well we will then work on some numbers/math. I met a couple other moms who homeschool, and we decided to start meeting once a week beginning next month.
Other happenings from the month included Ezra's primary program for church. He was able to get up in front of the congregation and say his part without any reservations. Wendy and Jacob were so kind to watch the little kids on the pew while I helped with the program.
Ezra and I went on a date to the waterpark, and he absolutely loved it! I have to say I really did too. It felt nice to venture out from the kiddy pool area. I was so proud of Ezra because we went on a very tall slide called the Ohana Highway. He was incredibly nervous and unsure if he wanted to do it, but he did and then he was hooked!
