Summer is in full swing with an absence of waves and hot days. It has been perfect for the kids. We've had plenty of beach days and have taken other days to escape the heat and go to cooler places like the botanical gardens. Ezra and I went on a little date (Summer did tag along) and it reminded me of the importance of one-on-one time with the kids. Summer is pretty chill, so it was easy to focus on Ezra and do exactly what he wanted at the botanical garden. He told me multiple times about how much he loved our date on the ride home.
Our ward also had summer party complete with a dunk tank and face painting. Ezra was so proud because he was able to hit the target on the dunk tank multiple times and get members of the bishopric wet. We had some our newest members of our ward over for dinner (the Martins) this month as well. The kids loved playing with their daughter, and it felt nice to speak with adults!
Homeschooling has begun and so far, we have enjoyed it! We are currently working on days of week, months of the year, numbers, letters, and money. He also caught a Wana (sea urchin) with his bare hands (he's been very interest in them ever since he learned how to go underwater recently). I explained people eat the inside, so he decided he was going to do the same! We brought it home and dissected the inside. He found it fascinating and loved learning about the different anatomical parts. Ezra didn't get to eat the inside however because we learned they have to be pretty big to get the uni inside to eat.
This month I also found a new walk and it is heaven to me! Many of our bike paths are literally next to the road and it makes taking kids for walks on bikes quite stressful when I'm by myself. However, I decided to try Peacock Flats and it did not disappoint. You have to wiggle through a gate but well worth it! No cars and a paved road for the kids to ride their bikes on! It's got a nice climb up and decent shade so you can get some good movement in too.
