September 2022 Memories

Our sweet Mason turned 3! We had a small family party but went big on the pinata and balloons. I decided to try and make a pinata and balloon arch for the first time. With ample help from YouTube I was able to do both! The balloon arch was pretty easy since I borrowed my friend's balloon pump. The pinata on the other hand took quite a long time but was so worth it! The kids had a blast trying to destroy it (I may have reinforced it too much).

Mason is such a sweet and intense kid. He makes us laugh constantly and obviously loves trucks and excavators. Mason's mannerisms remind me a lot of my brother Brent. If he could pick exactly what he wanted to do for the day he would "play fight" with dad, be pushed on the swing for an hour while you sing him songs like Slippery Fish or made-up songs about excavators and monster trucks. He would have all the treats his stomach would allow and dance to dad's 80's music playlist. And end the day playing with his coolest trucks in the backyard.

He is definitely a daddy's boy and always tells Randy he is not allowed to go to work anymore. If dad is working, he asks mom at least once a day if we can go visit the fire station. Mason is our rule enforcer and loves to correct us if we get out of line. One of these mornings I put on a show for him and turned up the volume so he could hear better. He looked at me and with a bossy but whispering voice he said, "MOM! Too loud. Summer sleeping!"
