August 2019

The end is near! We had our home visit this month with our midwife and two doulas and they dropped off the birthing tub. It is all set up and ready to go! With the end of this pregnancy approaching I've been having weekly appointments and everything is looking good (vitals, baby's position, labs, etc.). I have to admit I partied pretty hard last month gained 10 lbs in about a 2 week time period so I decided to go off refined sugar for the rest of my pregnancy and I ended up dropping those 10 lbs in a couple weeks. I don't think the majority of it was actual fat but mostly fluid retention bc my ankles look amazing now compared to a couple weeks ago and I'm feeling a million times better!

My sweet friends, Emma and Bridgette, put on a lovely baby shower for me at Shark's Cove. The kids played in the water while the mamas chatted and ate. It felt so nice to have many of my friends together and I'm not gonna lie that was my first time wearing a haku lei and I kind of felt like a preggy, mother-nature goddess!

I am happy to write that Randy's workload is starting to slow down! These past few months have been insane because of the house but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Randy is still working his tail off on this house and picking up OT but it isn't as intense as it was the past couple months. He literally cleared out the entire backyard of all the California grass on his own in the sweltering summer heat with many other projects. His work ethic is insane! I tried to take out ONE California grass root and I couldn't do it ha!

We've been really focusing on our relationship more starting this month and it feels so good. It's so easy to get busy and caught up in life and relationships do require work but just like anything worthwhile it is sooo worth it!

Also my dear friend Raye came to visit from Maui! Her time was short but I was so grateful I got to see her! We also had breakfast with  Robyn and Annie (our niece) who will be starting at BYU-Hawaii. I love catching up with family and friends and am excited to have Annie living so close to us!

July 2019

We officially moved on the 2nd of this month! There are still many projects to be done but the house is livable. For the first week or two we didn't have running water inside the house so we were showering outside but it actually felt really nice! We are also currently doing dishes outside but that is my fault because I've been rather indecisive about sinks and faucets. I ended up going through 4 sinks before finally picking one! Thank goodness Lowes and Home Depot have awesome return policies. We got our cabinets put in this month and also carpet in our 2 bedrooms and that was such a game changer! We were camping out together in the living room for a few weeks till the carpet came in.

The summer weather has been pretty tough. Apparently it's our hottest summer yet. In ways it's been good for me bc the heat encourages me to get outside and go swimming a lot. I've been loving Waialua though! Everything just seems easier and more family friendly. The library is 5 minutes away, so is the beach, we don't have to deal with traffic like we used to, there is a bike path we can walk to a park/school area. Basically all the essentials for mom life. Oh and Costco is only 20 minutes away :)

We signed up for a birth class. It is the same one we did before Ezra. I questioned whether we should do it again considering how busy things have been with the house but Randy encouraged me to sign up and I'm so glad we did! It's amazing how much you can forget in such a short period of time so it was very helpful and prepped me to be in a good head space for this upcoming birth. All of my midwife/doctor appointments have been great and I finally order our birth kit!

Also my friend from college and her family came to visit! We had sooo much fun together. Did the PCC, Hamama Falls, lots of beach time and ate some good food together. We even had some kid-free time where we got to laugh and talk about life and even take a yoga class together!

Oh and Ezra is gearing up to potty train. Just this month he has pooped and peed (twice) all on his own with no prompting from me. He just happened to be naked after his baths and would come get me to show he had gone potty. At first I didn't believe him but when he dragged me over to show his evidence I was amazed! I'm a little nervous to officially start potty training but after this it's pretty clear he is ready!

 Moving!

June 2019

What a crazy month! Since most of the demo work was done in May we are now moving onto rebuilding. I am amazed at how much Randy has learned/done on this house! He's never tiled a shower before but it is stunning! We had some good friends help with certain projects too. Zack was great at helping us with the plumbing and so many other things! He was even able to raise our shower head so it would be more enjoyable for us tall people. From drywalling, installing/fixing electrical stuff, putting in flooring, painting, etc. he has stayed insanely busy and is very tired. Not to  mention he is also working a lot of OT right now as well. I'm so grateful for the hard work and sacrifices he makes for our little growing family.

I stayed busy packing up the house in anticipation of the move and cleaning our studio. Although we have not officially moved into our house we decided to start going to church in Waialua and we were called as primary teachers for the four-year-olds.

Ezra has kept busy by playing with his friends, going to lego time at the library, going to the water park with his cousins and the beach.
