May/June 2022

Summer is officially here and our girl is all for it. She loves her swinging, swimming, tummy time outside, her brothers trying to make her laugh, being carried or in a wrap, baths, and new people. Her wide-mouth smiles get me every time. She went swimming for the first time at our friend's pool and loved it. Ezra also hit a huge milestone of being able to go underwater!! We were swimming at Mokule'ia and I told him there were fish close by and that he should try to see them with his goggles (I have suggested this a million times in the past but for whatever reason today was different).

He agreed nervously but once he saw the fish with his goggles he was hooked! He spent the rest of the day so excited about everything he could see. He has now seen multiple turtles and I took him snorkeling through the Mermaid Caves. Now he is a little fish and constantly tells us how he LOVES going underwater. It feels surreal that I finally have a child that can swim and go underwater. Needless to say, it has made mom life a little easier.

Our good friends are moving to the Big Island and June was their final month here. We tried soaking in all the time together with park days, swimming at their pool, Eternity beach, story time, and just hanging out at our homes. I am bummed the Ramsay's are leaving but excited for their new adventures. Ezra was even starting to call the twins brother and it melted my heart.

Jimmy came to visit us for a month in June and he was so helpful with the kids. He hiked with Randy to Mt Ka'ala, which is the highest peak on Oahu. We took him snorkeling, surfing, bodyboarding, and had some bonfires in the backyard complete with s'mores.

Ezra has also been into making money. We had a million calamansi so he decided to sell them. He would go up and down the neighborhood street saying, "Calamnsi one dollar! Calamnsi for sale!" It was so cute to watch. I thought he would make $5 because he had five gallon bags but people were so generous and gave him a ton of extra money and he made $30! When he got his first sale a fire was lit inside of him. He wanted to start selling everything at our house and have constant yard sales. He bought an army guy set he had been eyeing and a board game with his calamansi money.

Speaking of our calamansi tree, we had our first papaya from a tree I planted less than a year ago. It's a sunrise papaya and tasted great! Mangoes have been going crazy too. The church yard has about 4 large mango trees. The boys go search for good ones and bring them home. We also have loads of apple bananas going off. We gave many of the bananas to neighbors because we couldn't eat or even freeze them all on our own. Not a bad problem to have!

One afternoon I couldn't find Ezra...
