December 2022 Memories

The kids had such a fun month with Christmas parades, visiting the fire station with their homeschool group, and decorating gingerbread houses. I took Ezra on a waterpark poke date which he absolutely loved. He loved the ride Ohana Highway. He was also proud of himself for buying his own popcorn maker from Goodwill. Since we don't have a microwave the Whirly Pop has been a gamechanger!

For Christmas day the kids enjoyed opening presents. Uncle Chris and Auntie Jill got them geodes and a crystal formation kit. Ezra was overjoyed about his green fishing pole. We spent many evenings before Christmas day looking at lights in our neighborhood while also trying to kill time before bed. They also received a stomp rocket from their grandparents.

Ezra also had his first birthday party with friends. He wanted an army tank pinata and cake so that is what I did! The pinata was a little time consuming but much easier than the pinata I made for Mason's birthday. I didn't have time to put up all the balloons I bought but the food was delicious. I made yummy Mexican food: enchiladas, guacamole, salsa, chips, salad, and pineapple. For dessert I made pumpkin crunch, and the army tank was made out of rock-hard brownies (to help keep the shape). The kids loved hitting the pinata and since it was so strong everyone got a turn. They also had a water balloon fight with grenade-shaped balloons. We had about 30 people over and it was the perfect size. Ezra really loved it.

After Christmas, Summer and I headed to Denver to party with my family for a couple days. We had so much fun tubing in the park, playing games, Pickleball, decorating sugar cookies, karaoke, and we visited the light show at the Botanical Gardens. Anna and her husband also came to visit us! I hadn't seen her in over 7 years! We also did a secret sancta gift exchange, made a literal feast and watched all of the Twilight movies (I'm not sure whose idea that was).
